Why is THAT movie in THIS boxed set?
Aside from the obvious Prequels, Sequels and Remakes a number of things can cause a certain movie to be included in a boxed set.
Studios often make Backstory films for popular movies. I check the Internet's movie and film databases for connections, including Wikipedia and Fandom sites.
Many times, I get surprised to find out a 'new' movie is merely a remake of a very old movie.
I've also found some films where the title fails to reflect a well-known character, for example...Dracula or Frankenstein (Assignment Terror 1970 aka Dracula vs. Frankenstein).
Rather recently some studios have been creating movie universes. Referred to as 'Franchises' (DCEU, MCU, Legendary's Monsterverse and Universal's Dark Universe) there is usually a significant 'tie-in' element which causes the movies to connect. Example: Legendary's Monsterverse uses Monarch. (Even tho King Kong is a set on its own).
The boxed sets here put DCEU, MCU, Legendary's Monsterverse and Universal's Dark Universe films into their respective original connection, example Iron Man (part of the MCU) is in the Iron Man Boxed Set. The Dark Knight is in the Batman Boxed Set and Dark Universe's The Mummy is in The Mummy Boxed Set and so on...
As our community grows and members participate many boxed sets will grow as connections are discovered. This means the Big Screen Movies listing may change as well.
Its the purpose of the Big Screen Movies Index and Big Screen Movie Sets Index to keep confusion to a minimum. Its a lot of time and energy to keep the indexes accurate.
They are there to make it easier (alternative to Proboards default search page) for you to find the FilmLand entries (Proboards search system is not as accurate but it does work sometimes).
