For the most part, Genres will reflect standard assignments. There will however, be certain instances where established Genres will be ignored in favor of a better description. This can happen quite frequently concerning Boxed Movie Sets and TV Show Universes.
With well over 10,000 movies and shows in my personal collection
I needed to make sense of my collection so I could group similar together for watchability selection. This means I often ignore established genres in favor of my own customized genres. Since most of the content is referenced from my own collection It will reflect my personal preferences.
However I sort them, the established genres will be included in the 'about' summary in each thread.

Genre Indexing Guide
The thread topics for resources are built from the various ScreenHead Indexes. This means the index is created first and the threads are generated from that index. When the thread is made, the index entry is linked to that thread.
In the FilmLand Section the indexes are sorted by Genre Type
(Action, Animated, Drama, Family, Horror and so on...) These Genre Types are meant as a rough guide only. (There are nearly 100 official film genres) Rather than list every official genre, ScreenHead Index genres are limited. Sub-genres fall under the main genre type.
However, where a film or show is located in the indexes is sub-genre AND subject matter related. For example:
~a romantic comedy (romcom) would be in the comedy section even tho it had drama elements in it. However, a romcom which is also a sitcom would be in the sitcom section. ~a dramedy could be under comedy or drama but also a sitcom.
Certain genre type sections over-ride official genres. Over-Riding Index Genre Type Sections- Anime ~ Anime is Japanese animation (can contain other 'classed as' anime)
- Holiday ~ Holiday is holiday films and film sets (celebrates a holiday or happens in-focus of a holiday)
- Horror ~ Dealing with supernatural or horrific subjects
- Monster and Creature Feature ~ Films and film sets focusing on monsters and or creatures (animals)
- Music and Dance ~ Musicals, concerts, song & dance (focusing on music and or dancing)
- Science Fiction and Fantasy ~ Speculative fiction based on science or fantasy tropes
- Superpower Hero/Villain ~ focusing on superpowers
- Sports ~ Focusing on sports of any type
- "Bad Movies" ~ any genre with excessively low ratings (3.0 or less) [not strict], SyFy, Asylum, Uncork'd, etc...
- SitComs - Situational Comedy shows with or without a laugh track
- Soap Opera - Drama or romance shows usually (but not always) aired during the daytime
- Documentary - Includes Talk Shows and News Shows
- Horror - Dealing with supernatural or horrific subjects
- Game Shows - Self-explanatory
- Reality - Self-explanatory, includes some competition shows
- Science Fiction and Fantasy - Speculative fiction based on science or fantasy tropes
- Superpower Hero/Villain - Focusing on superpowers
- Sports - any sport topic
Please Note:
The current indexing standards are temporary. Each post has limits for size. In the future, a new indexing system will be implemented to account for post size restrictions. At that time, ScreenHead Genre Types may be modified.
