*Jeepers Creepers 1 (2001)
My Rating: 7.8 (for The Creeper design and mythology)
The first Jeepers Creepers film introduces us to The Creeper and the myth surrounding it.
Two college students (brother, Darry and sister, Trish) are driving thru Florida back roads returning from Spring Break.
During the drive the kids encounter a 1941 Chevy cab-over truck aggressively tailgating them blowing its loud horn.
Later, they see the truck parked at an old abandoned church and a man dumping 'something' down an old pipe.
They stop to investigate when the truck leaves again.
During this investigation, Darry falls into the pipe and discovers The Creeper's Lair.
The remainder of the film involves running from The Creeper and its unrelenting pursuit.
The first time I saw this film was purely by accident.
At the time, my internet connection was super slow and very unreliable.
I couldn't stream but I could set up and download movies overnight from StageVu, SeeImdb and Divx.
I never saw the trailer or read about the film and its was just one of a list of films I preset to download.
What I liked about this film:
- The Monster! - I love monster movies
- The mystery of The Creeper
- The wing reveal scene (totally unexpected)
- The monster design and face with intelligent eyes
- The Head Clutcher opening, that was a fantastic addition
- Its invulnerability to police
- The 'look' of its Lair
- The truck's threatening look and presence (limited till JC 3)
- The futility of running away
What I learned from watching this film:
I had no idea they were going to make another film about The Creeper.
- College kids should not drive a stick
- College boys have stinky clothes
- Psychics call diners with dire warnings to strangers
- I hate the song Jeepers Creepers (always have but this film reminded me so)
- Old churches in Florida have huge pipes sticking out of the ground
- The cat lady has a shotgun
- The Creeper ordered and paid for a custom license plate at the DMV
- 1941 Chevy cab-overs have train horns
- Florida cops are incompetent
I had no idea they were going to make another film about The Creeper.
I hoped they would but wasn't really expecting it.
When Jeepers Creepers 2 came available I had to get it!
Again, I was not expecting a 3rd film.
After seeing 1 and 2, I watched 3 and it seemed wrong.
It was out of sequence and seemed totally unnecessary.
Then, out of boredom I watched the trilogy in a different order and Jeepers Creepers 3 made more sense.
That's when I decided to realign the trilogy and relabel Jeepers Creepers 3 to Jeepers Creepers 1.5.
Now, I always watch 1 then 3 then 2. Its the best order to make sense of the story.
*Jeepers Creepers 1.5 aka: 3 (2017)
My Original Rating: 4.0 / My Revised Order Rating: 6.6
This film is set the day after the police station abduction of Darry.
It explores the Creeper's truck, the Creeper's supernatural abilities and its history from 23 years ago.
A concerted effort to stop The Creeper by a task force consisting of previous survivors and the
harrowing escape from The Creeper of a young girl. It sets up the mythology of The Creeper and
shows events leading to Jeepers Creepers 2.
What I liked about this film:
What I learned from watching this film:
*Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
My Original Rating: 6.0 / My Revised Order Rating: 6.9
- More Creeper screen time
- More Creeper Truck screen time
- Effective display of The Creeper's supernatural abilities
- The "Cow-Catcher" concept
- Return of the 'Battle Axe' and better use of it
- The Creeper Truck self-defense
- Introduction of Flying Mines
- The mini-gun in the field scene
What I learned from watching this film:
- 1941 Chevy cab-over trucks have a "Cow-Catcher"
- "Cow-Catchers" have unlimited precision aim, power and distance
- The Creeper can drive while standing on top of the Creeper Mobile
- Creeper body parts have special supernatural powers
- Dirt bike teenagers can fly
- Yelling at a truck window can fracture it
- Bad CGI can still tell a story
- Bunnies bite
A lot of people flat out hate Jeepers Creepers 3. Mainly because of the garbage CGI and involvement of Victor Salva.
Frankly, I don't give a damn, I like the concept and the design.
This whole trilogy needs to be remade with a higher budget but the same main actors/characters.
A film series could develop where each 23rd feeding period becomes a new trilogy spanning 9 films.
Starting with an Origin Trilogy, This Trilogy and a Future Trilogy. All films rated "R".
*Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
My Original Rating: 6.0 / My Revised Order Rating: 6.9
This film is set the day after the events of the 3rd film.
It involves the school bus transporting a high school basketball team home from an away game.
Stranded on the 9, a lonely back country road, the team, coach, driver and cheerleaders face the final day of The Creeper's hunt.
We get a really good look at The Creeper design and abilities.
We learn of the legend of The Creeper and find out what happens when it runs out of time.
The film sets up the continuation of the carnage 23 years later.
What I liked about this film:
*Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
The film unfolds as the Horror Hound festival holds its first ever event in Louisiana, where it attracts hundreds of geeks, freaks and die-hard horror fans from far and wide. Among them is fanboy Chase and his girlfriend Laine, who is forced to come along for the ride. But as the event approaches, Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with the town's past, and in particular, local legend/urban myth The Creeper. As the festival arrives and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned and that she is at the center of it.
- The head replacement scene really impressed me
- Use of the Bone Star and Bone Knife
- The Mobile Post-Puncher Harpoon
- The power of The Creeper's flight while tethered
- The wing capture scene
- Creeper flight visual concept
- "I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing." bumper sticker reference to The Creeper eating parts of people
- The truck chase scene and collision
- "Die...Die...Die..." Creeper hibernation scene
- The "Bat Out Of Hell" reference
What I learned from watching this film:
- Bus drivers are bad-asses
- Creepers smile
- Don't trust scarecrows
- Dogs can run backwards, in slow motion
- Some cheerleaders are psychic
- Heads easily pop off
- Bus doors are really hard to open
- Homemade Post-Puncher Harpoons are amazingly accurate
- Bug trucks at high speed flip end-over-end when struck thru the back window
The first time I saw this film I thought the next film would take place 23 years later as
The Creeper returns. I never expected or wanted an interquel film.
Victor Salva wrote a script titled "Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral" with Gina Philips as the protagonist, Brad Parker (Artistic Director and co-creator of the creeper) even made the concept art of the film however at the Final MGM showed no interest in making another movie.
The film series consists of the original, sequel, interquel and a reboot. The reboot isn't worth watching and should be disassociated with the trilogy.
Director Victor Salva was forbidden to show scenes where the creeper eats human organs.
Victor Salva has confirmed that the Creeper is in fact a demonic consciousness in physical form.
*Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
My Rating: 0.0 (Garbage)

What I liked about this film:
The references and spiritual situations that arise in the film are inspired by the religions of voodoo originating in West Africa that is widely spread in the south of the United States (Louisiana) and in the LukumĂ religion, of Afro-Cuban origin extended in the southeast of the United States (Florida). Timo Vuorensola toured various New Orleans supernatural sites and tourist attractions seeking advice and inspiration for the film.
- Not one damn thing
What I learned from watching this film:
For this film, a new creeper truck had to be built. This was due to the fact that the two original trucks were in the United States, while much of the project was filmed in London. Transporting the truck was very expensive for the production, also the script warranted a truck that was visually more worn and damaged than the original truck.
- How NOT to make a Jeepers Creepers movie
The first Jeepers Creepers movie that doesn't have Victor Salva as the writer, producer, or director. Director Timo Vuorensola confirmed that Victor Salva would not be involved or benefiting from the production.
The artistic design used for The Creeper in this movie, is strongly inspired by the gothic art made by Kewber Baal for some covers of the Jeepers Creepers comics, based on the covers of the comics: 03, 04, 05, now in the part external part of its head has sharp spines, while when opening the joints of its head to reveal its true face, it does not have internal spines. Still, it was decided to respect certain basics of the original designs, artwork, and storyboard that Brad Parker made for the first Jeepers Creepers of the early 2000s. The new design also has scars in the anterior superior region of the Creeper's thorax, this as a consequence of the harpoon wounds that he received from Jack Taggart in Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003).

Several American media outlets refused to give the film promotion a presence in audiovisual media, because although Victor Salva was not involved in any way in the project, he also received a monetary percentage for renting his license. The controversy grew even more when several journalists accused Salva of wanting to sabotage the production and premiere of Jeepers Creepers Reborn despite receiving monetary benefits, many speculated that he used his friendship with several producers to put obstacles on Jeepers Creepers Reborn.
To date the lowest rated Jeepers Creepers movie of the franchise at a 2.8 out of 10.
The film takes place on the same timeline as the original trilogy but focusing on a new Creeper feeding cycle. Curiously, the creator of the saga: Victor Salva, always conceived of Jeepers Creepers 2 and Jeepers Creepers 3 as independent sequels focused on a new cycle of hunting the creature, but Francis Ford Coppola rejected this in Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003) while a low budget and the request of Screen Media Films executives to rewrite the script of Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017) prevented this concept from materializing in the third part.
The reason they didn't hear the creeper truck's weird honk is because they didn't have permission to use it. This sound was created by the composer Bennett Salvay, in charge of the music of the first two Jeepers Creepers movies and a friend of Victor Salva, an agreement was not reached with Salvay to be able to use that sound.
Reviews:
This is one of the worst film I've seen from a successful horror franchise ever. I was in shock with how atrocious the acting, directing, effects, and story was. The story goes in some baffling directions, it's like the writers had never seen a creeper film in their lives. I literally wanted the Creeper to reach through the screen and rip my eyes out to keep me from watching this eye sore. The green screen is so horribly distracting and just takes you out of it.
AND THE KILLS!!! The kills are even worse. How can you mess that up?! Since when does the Creeper use a bear trap? In a house?! Please just put this franchise out of its misery. No competent director will touch this project with a 100 ft pole.

This movie single handley killed the creeper forever and im not overreacting. If we go back to what was the problem with JC3 we will find that the low budget was the only problem and factor that ruined it. JC3 was bad not because the story only (yeah it was bad) but the CGI was so cheap and that killed the movie also JC3 had another story that was scrapped due to budget problems so everything that ruined that movie was due to bad funding thats not the case here in JC:reborn.
This movie JC:reborn is bad in every aspect possible . The acting, the directing, the story , the creeper's makeup and the creeper himself. The problem with this movie is that everyone who worked on it seem to have no clue about the franchise . The general vibe and set of the movie is not related to the franchise by any means this is mixed with how bad the acting was. I dont know are these people even know what acting is . These actors and actresses convinced me that this was a bad youtube parody its not even close to a good youtube parody .
The creeper: what is that? Really what are you doing ? The guy who played the creeper in that movie deserves the worst actor award and he wont win it because he is so bad that they will exclude him and give it to someone else . The creeper was so goofy and funny . The guy who played the creeper apparently didnt read or watch anything about the creeper to know how to act properly . The make up also is sooooo bad the creeper looks dump at best and the people who were in the cinema with me laughed at how bad his face looked.
There's alot to say about this movie but im lazy and i wrote enough but the thing is as a true fan of this franchise and as a man who grow up watching the first 2 jeepers creepers and how the 2 movies remind me of parts of my childhood. This movie is a slap to my face and i hope i really hope the franchise can be managed and worked on by better people. No hate but all who worked on this movie need to be removed including the director if they plan to do a future sequels and i hope they let the franchise rest for awhile to get the proper team to make a proper JC . Respect the fans and the creeper because you done both dirty with this one .

I can't find a single positive review.
I watched the 1st 40 minutes last night and not impressed at all.
I'll probably watch the rest of it tonight starting where I left off - not interested in enduring the lead-up again.
